The Memphis YOMCA needed overtime and overcame a huge performance by the nation's top junior Julius Randle, yet moved past the Team Texas Titans 69-68 to earn a date with the Georgia Stars in the opening semi-final contest at the 2011 Nike Peach Jam.
The YOMCA finished pool play at a gaudy 5-0 behind 18 points from Shaq Goodwin (Georgia) and 16 points from Jarnell Stokes (Virginia) as they went against The Family 74-57.
The Georgia Stars earned their spot in the semi-final with a win over the Mac Irvin Fire 76-61. Alex Poythress (Northeast) is taking the Peach Jam by storm. He is the second leading rebounder at the event statistically and is scoring at a huge clip. He has coaches from all over the country observing his every move.
