A great game started the hoops action this morning as Memphis East, behind 22 points from junior phenom Nick King (Memphis East), outlasted Blackman 57-56 in Class AAA action.
A back and forth affair saw the Blaze in control late as the East press started to force some unexpected turnovers and conversions.
Blackman played with maximum effort and had a shot in the final seconds to win the game but it fell short.
Quindell Cousin (Blackman) led the Blaze with 17 points. He was assisted in the scoring column by Terrance Smotherman (Blackman) and Damian Sales (Blackman) who contributed 14 and 12 respectively.

C.J. Good (Science Hill) drained a late three as the Hilltoppers captured the lead very late and hung on for a hard fought 51-46 victory over a well coached Wilson Central group.
Will Adams (Science Hill) led the Hilltoppers with 16, Good added 13 in the win. Science Hill advances to Friday's semi-finals where they will take on Memphis East.
Jacob Williams (Wilson Central) led his squad with 19 points while Dee Oldham (Wilson Central) contributed 14 in the narrow loss.
