Memorial Day Tournament Action Results

Over the Memorial Day weekend several Tennessee squads participated in action in Atlanta and New Orleans.

Nike Memorial Day

Atlanta, GA

Tennessee Chosen Few (17's)

Will Adams (Science Hill) was a shining star as the Tennessee Chosen Few finished 2-2 at Nike Memorial Day in Atlanta. Devin Schmidt (Sevier County) and Xavier Howard (Harriman) were sighted for having solid weekends as well.

Tennessee Chosen Few (16's)

Jalin Henderson (Oak Ridge), Imani Miller (Austin East) and Travon Fields (Science Hill) were instrumental as the Tennessee Chosen Few 16 and under squad finished 2-2 in a loaded pool at Nike Memorial Day. Justin Simmons (Stone Memorial) was lauded for his defensive contributions and effort.

Tennessee Travelers (16's)

The Tennessee Travelers 16 and under squad had a solid outing in the Peach State winning their pool with victories over the Jackson Lee Bulls and Triple Threat before falling to the Georgia Stars. The Travelers then ran into the buzz saw known as the Long Island Lightning in bracket action to finish the event 2-2. Cameron Justice (Kentucky) proved to be hard to stop on the offensive side of the floor while Cody Hailstock (White Station) was sighted for his defensive prowess. Isaac Merion (Oak Ridge) and Kelvin Jackson (Fulton) were also lauded for their consistent efforts throughout the weekend.

 

New Orleans Memorial Day Madness

New Orleans, LA

Team Thad (17's)

A trip to the home of the Mardi Gras proved successful for Team Thad as the boys from the Bluff City finished in the final four falling to Team Breakdown. A solid effort punctuated with a victory over the Memphis Magic in pool play was big for Team Thad as they finish the early period at 28-6. Demetrius Dyson (Brighton) was big for Team Thad as was the continued steady play of Jonathan Starks (Brighton). Peyton Husley (Southwind) and Moses Harper (Brighton) were sighted for their contributions all weekend long. Tim Sanders (Germantown) and Aston Morton (Brighton) also had successful weekends for Team Thad.
