McMasters Leads Grace in GOW Results

EAST GAME OF THE WEEK

Carter McMasters scored 21 solid points and led his squad to a tough 63-53 victory over an undermanned CSAS team. The win moves Grace to 11-7 overall and keeps them unbeaten in district play. Joining McMasters in the scoring column sophomore guard Brandon Herman added 19 and junior Patrick Shaugnessy scored 12.

CSAS was playing without leading scorer Dontay Hampton yet recieved solid effort from Terrill Townsend who scored 20 and Hassan Cobb who added 14.

 

 

MIDDLE GAME OF THE WEEK

Culleoka 51

Moore County 48

Culleoka avenged their earlier defeat against Moore County pulling away in the final stanza behind 18 markers from MTSU signee DeMario Williams and gathering a 51-48 win. The game was tight throughout with Moore County holding the halftime lead behind a game high 21 p[oints from senior Tyler Jean. Williams led the second half charge and was assisted by Chad Stephens who scored 14 and Shawn Beach who added 10. Georgio Alexander added 10 for Moore County.

 

 

WEST GAME OF THE WEEK

Kirby 79

White Station 74

Malcolm Burton prounounced himself leader and led the "giant killers" Memphis Kirby to a big district win against previous frontrunner White Station. Burton netted a team high 28 points helping Kirby overcome a big halftime deficit to capture the victory. Rockeem Henderson added 17 and Curtis Lee 14 for the Kirby boys. Joe Jackson did his best but his 33 markers were not enough to ensure victory. Julian Burton added 13 and freshman Andre Hollins 11 for the Spartans.
