Mavericks Touch Down Tornadoes… The Whirlwind Tour Continues

Tyler Cross (Anderson County) scored 18 points and the Mavericks got past Alcoa 64-55 in the third game of my January journey across the state.

I had scheduled a game for Saturday but a time change, unbenownst to me, resulted in my getting to the gym and finding an empty parking lot. The kids milling around the dorms at Kings Academy assured me that Meiko Lyles (USN) was superb, I hate I missed it.

Back to the AC.

Paul Longmire (Anderson County) and Jordan Rorex (Anderson County) scored 14 and 13 respectively in the Mavericks balanced offensive attack.

Dee Sudderth (Alcoa) led the Tornadoes with 16.

Another change in schedule for tonights game. I will be doing the Wazoo Sports internet telecast for the Maryville/Farragut game tonight so I will not be making the trip to Tellico Plains.

Check out the broadcast at www.wazoosports.com tonight or anytime as they archive all games.

Still on track for Tullahoma/Columbia Central on Friday and Bolivar Central/Fayette Ware on Saturday.

Happy Hoops
