The 18th annual Marshall County Hoop Fest tips this weekend with several of the top national powerhouses coming to the Bluegrass State.
Several of the top ranked players in the nation will be in attendance at this special and unique venue.
Tennessee will be very well represented as well with the pre-season top ranked squad in Class AAA and AA participating in the event.
Memphis White Station takes the floor on Saturday night against the pre-season 7th ranked squad in the country Prime Prep from Dallas. The Spartans are #12 in the same USA Today Basketball Poll.
The Spartans are led by Illinois signee Leron Black (White Station) and Chris Chiozza (White Station) who has inked with the Gators of Florida. The Station also features St. Louis signee Davell Roby (White Station), Campbell signee Curtis Phillips (White Station); as well as, newcomer Ladarious Coleman (White Station) and rising junior guard Nych Smith (White Station).
The Lions of CPA will also take the floor on Saturday, their opponent the "Traveling Warriors" of Oak Hill Academy, the 9th ranked squad in the USA Today hoops poll.
Leading the charge for the Lions will be super rising sophomore Braxton Blackwell (CPA). Coach Drew Maddux's crew features Georgia Southern signee Jake Allsmiller (CPA) and Liberty University inker Braxton Bonds (CPA).
Oak Hill Academy, Prime Prep and Huntington Prep, the 3rd ranked squad in the USA Today national prep poll will also play on Friday night in addition to Saturday action. Huntington Prep features former CPA and reigning Class AA Mr. Basketball Jalen Lindsey.
Wilson Central opens the action on Saturday clashing with Warren Central from Kentucky. Jacob Williams (Wilson Central) leads the Wildcats.
On Friday, ECS and rising junior phenom Skal Labiessiere (ECS) take on Chicago Currie and one of the nations top talents in Cliff Alexander, a Kansas signee and the #3 player in the ESPN Top 100.
Ole Miss signee Marcanvis Hymon (Whitehaven) and rising sophomore point guard Lucky Cheatham (Whitehaven) take on Oak Hill Academy in more Friday action.
