"Now I can concentrate on getting better and winning some games".

The classic statement of a very excited young player, as he makes his college choice and now feels the relief of having the biggest decision of his young life under his belt.

A very exciting day for the college of his choice and even better for the coach as the decision comes with a very interesting twist, they come as a pair.

Malcolm Smith (Clarksville Academy) and Martin Smith (Clarksville Academy) had their share of suitors but in the end the dynamic duo chose to stay closer to home and become proud members of the Lipscomb Bison family.

The twins had fielded offers from Jacksonville, Samford, Murray State and Belmont, yet chose to become Bison because of their relationships with the coaching staff. "We felt comfortable and had a very close relationship with Coach Sanderson and his staff" said Malcolm with a calm excitement in his voice.

Coming off an incredible high school campaign which saw the twins capture a state title behind a tandem of huge efforts, Martin finished with 32 points and 13 boards while Malcolm, who incidentally also took home the coveted Class A Mr. Basketball award, finished the title game with 29 points and 15 caroms.

Malcolm is a bit more accomplished offensively than his brother despite scoring a lot of his high school points in the paint, he has the ability to put the ball on the deck and finish at the rim or knock down a much improving short jumper. Martin has improved his offensive game exponentially this past season and is the better defender and glass cleaner of the twins.

With their decision now behind them the twins will venture into the July landscape traveling to Atlanta, Nashville and Memphis with their summer squad the Drake Reed Basketball Club.

Malcolm and Martin become the second and third commitments for the rising senior class of 2011 in the state.
