Lindsey Named MVP as Lions Take “King of the Bluegrass Title”

CPA is certainly the King of the Bluegrass. For the second consecutive season the Lions of CPA captured the prestigious King of the Bluegrass title with a victory over nationally ranked Louisville Ballard.

Jalen Lindsey (CPA) had the hot hand scoring 44 points and snatching 13 caroms on his way to tourney MVP honors. Joining Lindsey on the glitter squad and securing All-Tournament honors were Braxton Blackwell (CPA) and Braxton Bonds (CPA). Thomas Richard (CPA) added 12 in the title game victory.

With the win CPA moves to 12-0 on the season and now finds themselves ranked #20 nationally in the latest Maxpreps rankings.

The Lions survived a scare in their third contest after trailing by 15 late in the third quarter, the Lions used a 19-9 final quarter push to offset nationally ranked Bullitt East from Kentucky 52-51. Jake Allsmiller (CPA) led the scoring with 14 followed closely by Bonds with 13 points and 7 dimes and Lindsey with 12.   

CPA will put their nationally ranking on the line after Christmas as they travel to the Myrtle Beach Ball Classic.
