Ledford Shines at Week #3 of the Rocky Top Fall League

The final week before our two week break saw some teams break out, some movement among the division leaders and some statements from the top scorers. Lets see how things went this past Saturday at Knoxville Catholic High School.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Team Sharp 86

Team O'Hara 79

Trent Stephney (Bearden) dropped 29 markers as Team Sharp won their second consecutive game with a hard fought 86-79 win over a shorthanded Team O'Hara.  

Assisting Stephney in the scoring column were Justin Ketterl (Bearden) with 16, Shamarcus Brown (Bearden) with 15, Spencer Chandler (Anderson County) with 11 and Steele Albino (Gibbs) with 10.

Javonte Thomas (Oak Ridge) had his best game of league play dropping 24 markers in his head to head battle with Stephney. Myles Rasnick (Knoxville Webb) and Jason Ozment (CAK) each added 19 in the tough loss while Uriah Powers (Knoxville Webb) finished with 11.

When the action resumes on September 23rd at Knoxville Catholic Team Sharp (2-1) will take on Richardson Division leader Team Feltner (3-0) for a shot at the division lead while Team O'Hara (2-1) welcomes Team Upchurch (2-1) both battling for playoff seeding.

 

 

Team Morton 83

Team Gillespie 80

Marcus Smith (Oak Ridge) dropped 23 points as Team Morton moved to 3-0 and set alone at the top of the Harris Division after a tight 83-80 win over Team Gillespie.

Caleb Tripp (Powell) continued his outstanding play scoring 18 and a resurgent Barron Nease (Union County) added 16 in the win.

Ques Glover (Bearden) scored 23 for Team Gillespie in the tough loss. Mehki Carter (Alcoa) added 16 and Caleb Ball (Scott) finished with 12.

Team Morton (3-0) goes into the break with a hot hand and will welcome Team Matthews (1-2) on September 23rd at Knoxville Catholic. Team Gillespie (2-1) looks to rebound from the narrow defeat as they get a visit from Team Coward (0-3) ready for that first victory of the season.

 

 

Team Upchurch 82

Team Conn 61

Joe Anderson (Maryville) led a six pack of double digit scorers with 18 as Team Upchurch moved to 2-1 with an 82-61 victory over TeamConn.

Luke Burnett (Heritage) added 12, Trey West (Austin East) and Jacob Llumet (Maryville) each pitched in with 11 while Jacob Giles (Maryville) and Akeem Odusipe (Knoxville Catholic) closed with 10 apiece.

Michael Cody (Monterey) had another solid game scoring 16 to lead Team Conn. Austin McKeehan (Cosby) added 10 in the loss.

Team Upchurch (2-1) plays for division seeding on the 23rd against Team O'Hara (2-1) while Team Conn (0-3) looks to get that elusive first win against Team Derrick (0-3).  

 

 

 

Team Booher 76

Team Matthews 56

Connor Jordan (Morristown East) led a five some of double digit performers with 20 as Team Booher snatched their first win of the season with a 76-56 victory over Team Matthews.

Jawon Moore (Knoxville West) pitched in 13, Chris Dalton (Farragut) and Kordell Kah (Bearden) finished with 12 and K.J. Hawkins (Karns) closed with 10.

Brantley Baker (Meigs County) was the lone member of Team Matthews in double digits with 13.

Team Booher (1-2) looks to stay on their winning track after the break as they take on Team Steinmetz (2-1). Team Matthews (1-2) looks to flip the script as they battle Harris Diviion leader Team Morton (3-0)

 

 

Team Feltner 90

Team Derrick 64

Grant Ledford (Grace Christian) scored a league high 34 points as Team Feltner took over first place in the Richardson Division with a 90-64 triumph over Team Derrick.

Brock Jancek (Knoxville Catholic) added 16 and Jackson Rowan (Knoxville Catholic) finished with 12 for the victors.

Dante Harris (Alcoa) continued his sterling play dropping 26 markers in the loss. Ben Knight (Seymour) added 11 and Nick Roberts (Alcoa) finished with 10.

Team Feltner (3-0) puts their unblemished mark on the line in two weeks against a surging Team Sharp (2-1) while Team Derrick (0-3) looks to make things right against Team Conn (0-3).  

 

 

Team Steinmetz 84

Team Coward 79

Edward "Du-Du" Lacey (Fulton) led a group of five double digit scorers with 16 as Team Steinmetz outlasted a determined Team Coward 84-79 in one of the best games of the day this past Saturday at Knoxville Catholic.

Trey Davis (Fulton) and Davy Clark (Kingston) scored 14 each, Dillon Fountain (Wartburg Central) finished with 13 and Jackson Hicks (Oakdale) added 10.

C.J. Gettlefinger (Grace Christian) led all scorers with 25 markers in the narrow loss. Jordan Corvette (Knoxville Halls) finished with 13 including a clutch three that tied the game very late.

Kolbi Billingsley (Sweetwater) finished with 12 as did Baylor Younker (Grace Christian).

 Team Steinmetz (2-1) puts it on the line against Team Booher (1-2) while Team Coward (0-3) looks for that first victory against a tough Team Gillespie (2-1).
