Large Movement Highlights “Lucky 13”

1.  Union City (1) 31-0

Golden Tornadoes continue to roll in the category of unbeaten. Lake County is on tap next in the regional semi-final but the playaz from the U.C. have nothing but the 'boro on their minds.

 

2.  Kirby (4) 26-3

District champs with another tough win over Ridgeway continue to roll despite star guard Malcolm Burton at less than 100%. Kirby tangles with White Station and The Real Thing and another meeting with Ridgeway.

 

3.  Antioch (2) 24-2

Huge game with Franklin on tap for Tuesday night. Antioch has something to prove and the Rebels are in danger of getting in the way...not an easy one for Antioch.

 

4.  Dyer County (7) 31-1

The wins keep piling up and a collision course for some of Memphis' best is right around the corner. The Chochtaws battle athletic Covington in the semis.

 

5.  Bearden (9) 31-2

Huge win against Maryville keeps the Bulldogs state hopes alive. Stat-Man was huge in region opener and another battle with Farragut looms tomorrow evening.

 

6.  Oak Ridge (10) 28-2

An elimination game with Maryville is on the docket for early tomorrow evening. Jared Stephens had a beautiful region opener and will be key against the Maryville bombers.

 

7.  Ridgeway (3) 27-3

Two losses in the past week concerns the Roadrunners but not enough to disuade them from defeating Hamilton in the region opener. Sampson and Jones played well. Melrose on tap for tomorrow.

 

8.  Braircrest Christian (11) 26-5

Two games away from winning the state has the Saints prepping for greatness. They will tangle with venerable coach Terry Tippett and ECS on Thursday.

 

9.  CPA (12) 29-3

And the wins just keep on coming. FRA is next for the CPA bulldozer and the 30 win plateau will be quite the achievement for second year mentor Drew Maddux.

 

10. Howard (T13) 26-2

Sitting under the radar the Hustlin Tigers are ready to swoop from the Chattanooga area and show everyone they are among the states best in AA. East Ridge you are next.

 

11. BTW (5) 26-3

A few losses later has Booker T wondering if another incident like last seaosn may occur. The guard play is strong with Ware, Lee and McGaughey ready for Sheffield on Tuesday night.

 

12. Maryville (6) 26-4

Tough loss to Bearden quickly forgotten with region opening triumph. Wes Lambert was hot shotin all over the gym and everyone knows Oak Ridge stands next in line for the mighty Rebels.

 

13. Raleigh Egypt (8) 24-4

District championship loss to Craigmont made everyone stop and wonder about the Pharoahs. They quickly erased any doubt in the region opener and now face Millington tomorrow evening.
