Lake County placed five players in double digits and overcame a 26 point performance from Javonte Woody (Middleton) to bring home the Class A state title with an 84-63 victory over Middleton.
Ricky Boyd (Lake County) led his squad with 19 points followed by Rafeal Tyler (Lake County) with 16, Derrick Swift (Lake County) chipped in 13, B.J. Gauldin (Lake County) added 12 and Devon Jones (Lake County) finished with 11 markers.
Woody led all scorers with his 26 points. Derrick Hudson (Middleton) chipped in with 12 in the tough loss.
Tyler was selcted as the tournaments MVP. Joining him on the glitter squad were Woody, Boyd, Hudson, Gauldin, Jones, Jeremy Duncan (Middleton), Nathaneal Hughes (Hampton), Dylan Ward (Hampton) and Dray Mercer (Perry County).
Malcolm Smith (Clarksville Academy) won his second Class A Mr. Basketball award directly following the championship game.
Smith was selected from a group of three finalists inlcuding his twin brother Martin Smith (Clarksville Academy) and Natheal Hughes (Hampton).
