Family issues kept me from posting this sooner and I apologize to the nominees and the winners for the delay.

A great day on Saturday with the state final festivities and the announcements of the most prestigious award in high school basketball in the state of Tennessee.

You got it........Mr. Basketball

Nick King (Memphis East) achieved the honors in Class AAA. He was chosen over Robert Hubbs (Dyer County) and Darius Thompson (Blackman).

King, who is a University of Memphis signee, was the MVP of the state tournament last season as he led East to the crown.

Over in Class AA we had a daily double of sorts as rising junior sensation Jalen Lindsey (CPA) took home not only state tournament MVP honors but also the coveted Mr. Basketball nod.

Lindsey was chosen over his counterparts Mason Ramsey (Livingston Academy) and A.J. Merriweather (Jackson Southside).

Down in the land of Class A the Franchise brings home the prize. Alex "The Franchise" Fountain (Wartburg Central) proudly accepted his award as Mr. Basketball. The Houston Baptist signee was chosen over fellow classification mates Zamarlus Griffin (BTW) and Derrick Spears (MTCS).
