Nick King (Memphis East) snatched an inbounds lob and converted the bucket with less than a second on the clock in overtime lifting the Memphis YOMCA 16 and under squad to the title of the 2011 Sweet 16 Peach Jam with a 74-73 victory over CP3.
King had to bring his A-Game after his running mate Jonathan "J3" Williams (Southwind) fouled out shortly into the overtime session.
The YOMCA trailed by 10 late in the second half before consecutive scores from King and Demetrius Dyson (Brighton) brought the game closer at around the 6 minute mark.
Going back and forth, Cameron Payne (Lausanne) nailed a three from the left wing and we were tied again at 56 with little time remaining. Carlos Hart (Fayette-Ware) and King converted buckets as the YOMCA took a one point lead in regulation.
With their name sake in the gym, the Chris Paul squad tied things up at 61 and forced the overtime session.
Williams led the YOMCA with 21 points before fouling out in the overtime session; King added 19 including the game winner.
Jewan Johnson (Southwind) played an outstanding game and finished with 12 points, while Dyson added 10 in the victory.
