Drew Kelly (Centennial) spent the summer holding his own against the players who supposedly were ranked higher and were far more advanced than him.
As is usually the case this argument didn't fly. Kelly used his superior footwork and advanced inside positioning to hold his own against those so-called All-Americans.
The work certainly paid off handsomely as the Redhawks of Miami of Ohio are now the proud owners of a commitment from the aforementioned Kelly.
The Mid-American Conference (MAC) regulars are on the rise and will certainly welcome the dedicated Kelly.
Kelly, who balled this summer with the Nashville Celtics, is the sixth member of the Class of 2009 to score a D1 pledge.
Kelly chose the Redhawks over numerous offers including Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, George Mason and many more. His skill level will be welcomed by venerable coach Charlie Coles.
Congrats to Drew and we wish him luck in his senior season as well.
