Down in the Bluegrass this past Saturday night, the good people of Kentucky had their opportunity to see what those of us in Tennessee have known for almost four years now...Joe Jackson (White Station) is the real thing.

The Memphis signee led his Spartans of White Station with 31 points and helped them secure an 86-71 victory over the host school Warren Central in the second annual Minit Mart Tennessee/Kentucky Shootout.

The win gave the states a split at 2-2 for the day.

Jackson was joined in the scoring column by rising junior Andre Hollins (White Station) who finished with 26 points of his own.

Jacob King led Warren Central with 12 and highly touted rising junior George Fant added 11 points and 8 boards.

Joining White Station in the win column, Antioch got 22 points from Omar Cobb (Antioch) and 16 from Chris Greer (Antioch) to slip past Fairdale 58-50. This game also marked the return to Tennessee high school hoops for Kaymon Garrett (Antioch), he would finish with 9 points.

Christian County of Kentucky dispatched of Liberty Tech 68-58 behind 20 points from Donovan Kates and 11 from game MVP Anthony Hickey. Kendall Anthony (Liberty Tech) led three Crusaders in double figures with 15. Cordero Williams (Liberty Tech) and Tarius Johnson (Liberty Tech) added 13 and 11 respectively.

In a very physical battle Covington Holmes, the defending Kentucky state champions, defeated Memphis Central 45-40 behind 21 points from Ohio University signee Ricardo Johnson. Tulsa signee Tim Peete (Memphis Central) led Central with 9 points.
