A bountiful April brought much attention to DeAndre Barnette (Liberty Tech). The 6'4 wing decided to end his recruitment and concentrate on helping the Crusaders get back to the state title game, when he committed to play for the Huskies of Northern Illinois University.
Members of the Mid-American Conference the Huskies are coached by Ricardo Patton and love the versatility of the lanky Barnette.
Barnette, who played this summer with the Nashville Celtics, gives the Huskies a player who can play three spots on the floor and will fit right into the system established by Coach Patton.
Barnette becomes the third member of the Class of 2011 to pledge his commitment to a D1 school.
