Hopkins Huge Day Leads this Weeks Scoring Leaders

Its basketball time my friends and as always I am criss crossing the state to bring you all the information that I can gather. Here is the first run of our weekly state scoring list that has become one of the most enjoyed features that we present.

This first list will be ultra long encompassing the 1st few weeks of the season as everyone gets their gridiron stars acclimated to their hoops scheme.

College coaches have told me this is their favorite segment as they can see who is doing what in all three segments of the hoops landscape in the state of Tennessee.

So sit back and lets present the list.

Preston Turner (Sale Creek) is lighting up the scoreboards over in the rurals of East Tennessee. The Sale Creek stroker had games of 34 points against Bledsoe County and another 34 large against Marion County.

Another strong candidate for Mr. Basketball in Class A has emerged in the form of junior guard Tyreke Key (Clay County). Key was out of sight with a 40 point game against Clarkrange followed up by 35 more against Monterey.

After leaving Southwind, Leland Kirkendoll (KIPP) has found his home a KIPP. The sophomore guard is piling up the points in Class A including a huge 36 point outburst this past week against MBA.

Kevin Cameron (Tyner Academy) came alive this week down in the Chattanooga area. Cameron dropped 40 on Red Bank then closed the week with 27 against Walker Valley.

Darian Pride (Community) forever etched his name into the annals of Community basketball folklore scoring his 1,000 point with a 30 point effort against Forrest.

Mikkel Normant (Fayette-Ware) might be the best unsigned senior in the state. Disagree then check out this week of action, 29 markers against Covington followed by 30 against Martin Westview.

Finally not to be outdone and also putting his name into the Mr. Basketball hat, Hunter Vick (Camden Central) had another fine week scoring 25 against East Hickman and 31 against Stewart County.
