A vertible Tennessee Hoop Festival took place today at the Battle of the Bluff with a spot in the treasured final four for the winners.
Jonathan Milewski (ECS) scored 16 points and the Memphis Hoopers got past the Tennessee YOMCA Tigers to advance to the final four and a date with the Birmingham Ice.
Milewski was stout the entire weekend scoring 25 in a big win over Brandon Bass. The Hoopers stand at 4-2 and have had balanced scoring the entire event. Louis Jones (Carver), John David Little (Mississippi), Ben Norfleet (Kirby), Tyler Stone (Memphis Central) and Reggie Fondren (Raleigh-Egypt) all had their moments.
The Memphis Magic in a classic battle defeated the Nashville Celtics to move on into the final four. Joe Jackson (White Station), Mardracus Wade (Mitchell) and Tim Peete (Memphis Central) represent the Magic backcourt and were instrumental in the victory.
Gregg Wooten (Braircrest Christian), Zane Gibson (Baylor) and Ricky Williams (Liberty Tech) played some of their best ball of the weekend in this game for the Celtics.
