Hilltoppers Strike Gold in West Tennessee

West Tennessee has always been known as a talent rich area.

On par with any area of the country I dare say, the West Tennessee hoops scene produces player after player for the next level.

Over the border in Bowling Green the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky know this better than anyone right now as they laid claim to two of the best.

Chris McNeal (Jackson Southside) was the first player in the Class of 2015 in the state to pledge back in the fall. The dynamic state champion point guard is a leader of the first degree and a player who a coach can ride to conference titles and championships.

McNeal, who played this past summer with the Memphis Magic Elite, is a born winner and has improved his basketball stock every year he has been on the hardwood. Don't expect anything to change when he gets to college.

Marlon Hunter (Houston) held his decision just a bit longer and thus became the 11th player in the state of Tennessee and the Class of 2015 to sign D1.

Hunter, who played with the Arkansas Wings this past summer in the vaunted Nike EYBL, is a ferocious competitor who has obviously felt the weight of the world off his shoulders as he is tearing up the Memphis hoops scene right now with three 30 point games to start the season.

The Hilltoppers have always had a friendly hand of the Volunteer state on their formidable roster. Western Kentucky is coached by Ray Harper and they toil in Conference USA.
