This Saturday marks the second week for the states high
schools to come together and get some quality games before the actual season
gets underway.
In Harpeth on Saturday the 14th, a slick lineup
of squads travels to Kingston Springs for some heavy action.
Leading the way the host team Harpeth led by senior shooting
guard Donterio Dansby (Harpeth).
Kerry Hammonds
(Siegel) leads the Stars of Siegel down I40 for their second straight week
of play day action. Joining the talented Mr. Hammonds are Carson Newman
commitment Levon Tate (Siegel), Cedric
Williams (Siegel) and Janeal McDonald (Siegel).
Creek Wood after a lot of success last season will look to
continue on the path to riches led by senior big man Vincent Dotson (Creek Wood) and guard depth featuring Justin Walton (Creek Wood), Coty Crow
(Creek Wood) and Xavier Darden (Creek Wood).
T.J. Smith (Livingston Academy) powers the Hog Eye in their
AD (After Dunn) crusade to return to the ‘boro. Smith is joined by a group of
talented newcomers including Kailen
Melton (Livingston Academy) and Mason Ramsey (Livingston Academy).
Clarksville makes the short
trip to Harpeth led by sophomore point guard Daijon Williams (Clarksville).
Keenan Froedden
(Sycamore) leads Sycamore into a place his school is very familiar with
having stages many battles for district supremacy throughout the years.
Reigning DII state champion Father Ryan comes into town led
by Jackson Coursey (Father Ryan) and
John Rohling (Father Ryan).
Telvin James
(Northeast) and Jeremy Purvis (Northeast) lead Clarksville Northeast as
they prepare for another run at state glory this season.
CPA brings a much improved squad into Harpeth led by rising
junior Skylar Sims (CPA), emerging
sophomore point guard Taylor Akers (CPA)
and Class of 2014 phenom Jalen
Lindsey (CPA).
After not being able to attend the Liberty
play day this past Saturday, Maplewood
is expected to be in the house on Saturday. Morehead
State commitment Robert Wade (Maplewood), "So Smooth"
Fred Lee (Maplewood) and rising junior Darryl Clack (Maplewood) will be ready for action.
Houston Bagsby (Page) leads a young Page team
into battle this weekend.
Brentwood rounds out the field for action this Saturday led
by seniors Josh Tidwell (Brentwood),
Anvil Nelson (Brentwood), junior guard James
Cox (Brentwood) and "The Natural" Jack Montague (Brentwood).
