The Franklin Rage made the best of their weekend in Clarksville coming up one bucket short in overtime falling 47-45.

Steady offense and heady shooting kept the Rage in contention throughout the weekend. Michael Young (Franklin), Kevin Kegarise (Franklin) and Peyton Henry (Franklin) made everyone respect their outside shooting knocking down shot after shot.

Each player contributed throughout the event with Young knocking down 23 in one game finishing as the teams high scorer at around 13 per contest. Kegarise is deadly when his feet are set and he also averaged around 12+ for the weekend.

Henry was a steady hand on Saturday with his high basket ball IQ and ability to penetrate and make the right decision with the ball. His slight build gives his defneder hope until he blasts by them and hits one his thankful teammates for another three ball.

The Rage played the tourney without the services of emerging big man James Haddix (Franklin), who is recovering from an injury.

Daniel Miller-McLemore (Franklin) and Reed Glover (Franklin) were also instrumental in the Rge surge to the title game.

Top Tennessee Players from the Event

Trey Caruthers (Harpeth) Mid-State Ballerz East

The blonde bomber was elite on this day scoring from inside or out, making super passes and playing with a nice little chip on shoulder. He will not back down from anyone and gives maximum effort. His stock is rising as we speak.

Adrian Williamson (Hume Fogg) Team Nashville

Tough, tough young man who battles so fiercly on the glass. He showed some explosion with a nasty flush over his unfortunate opponent on one possession. His game has come a long way and his work is obvious.

Michael Young (Franklin) Franklin Rage

Very intelligent player who knows when to drive, pass or shoot. Very good off the ball with sharp cuts to the bucket for easy finishes. Will need to work on his quickness and athleticism on the defensive end of the floor.

Anthony Jones (Raleigh-Egypt) Memphis Trotters

Very good, explosive athlete who can finish and excels going to the rack. His outside shot will need work and finishing his drives to the bucket a priority.

LeShun Banks (Kenwood) Mid-State Ballerz East

This young man was a big surprise finishing as one of the leading scorers for the Ballerz. He was always heading for the rim and attacking off the bounce. Very impressive weekend.

Kevin Kegarise (Franklin) Franklin Rage

One of the best shooters in the state..period. His stroke is magical and when he adds a move or two off the bounce his game will grow dramatically. He's smart, unselfish and a great team player who has a knack for hitting a dagger when his team needs a bucket.

Kerry Love (BTW) Memphis Trotters

Tough player who went hard to the bucket and often payed the price, but always got up and never gave in. He showed some toughness in his game.

Marquis Rudolph (Clarksville Northwest) Team Nashville

Very quick and can get by you in a hurry. His slight build makes him look vulnerable but he is much tougher than he looks. Can finish with either hand around the bucket and will grow as a player with an improved outside shot.

Dustin Craig (Knoxville Bearden) Mid-State Ballerz East

Dustin played well on Saturday scoring from inside and out. His shooting stroke needs some mechanical work but his confidence made shots go in. He has good length and blocked some shots as well as getting some important put-backs.

Peyton Henry (Franklin) Franklin Rage

Little guy won't strike fear into you until he goes by you or takes the ball away. Great instincts and toughness for his size. Unselfish, yet scored when needed. Loved his basketball IQ.

Tevin Crayton (HUmboldt) Mid-State Ballerz East

Long and talented, Crayton has all the tools. He has an adequate shot, can score off the bounce and when motivated play defense. He must make better decisions with the ball, shooting or passing. His athleticism will allow him to be a superior player, his work will get him to the proper level.
