With the all-star games mostly behind us the world turns to the summer circuit to find out where some of the new stars will be playing this summer.
I did some research to find out where the Class of 2009 stacked up nationally and was both pleased and disappointed in some of the results.
I understand some particular services may not have done their final updates but you'd think at this juncture they should have.
I used what I feel are the top services as far as ranking players nationally are concerned: Scout, Rivals, Hoop Scoop, Hoopmasters and ESPN for the data.
The same three players appeared on most every Top 100 list and they were John Jenkins (Station Camp), who is headed to Vanderbilt, Leslie McDonald (Briarcrest Christian), who will head to 2009 National Champion North Carolina and Reginald Buckner (Manassas), who will attend Ole Miss.
Here are the results:
Scout.com
John Jenkins #40
Leslie McDonald #52
Reginald Buckner #78
Rivals.com
John Jenkins #15
Reginald Buckner #29
Leslie McDonald #65
Hoop Scoop
Leslie McDonald #36
John Jenkins #57
Reginald Buckner #95
Hoopmasters.com
Leslie McDonald #59
John Jenkins #67
Reginald Buckner #92
ESPN.com

On average this computes to:
John Jenkins #40
Leslie McDonald #49
Reginald Buckner #73
