Douglas Leads the District Scoring List

Its basketball time my friends and as always I am criss-crossing the state to bring you all the information that I can gather. Here is the first run of our weekly state scoring list that has become one of the most enjoyed features that we present.

College coaches have told me this is their favorite segment as they can see who is doing what in all three segments of the hoops landscape in the state of Tennessee.

District scoring list from the opening rounds to the finals.

Ruot Monyyong (White's Creek) had a game for the ages leading White's Creek to the district tournament title. The big junior totaled 31 markers and came just short of another triple double in the win over Maplewood.

Carlos Marshall (Southwind) was instrumental in leading Southwind to the district tourney crown over Germantown. The rising junior dropped a 31 spot on Ridgeway in the semi-finals.

Patrick Good (David Crockett) wants his senior season to end in the 'boro. The Appalachian State signee was huge leading Crockett to the district crown with games of 23 against Daniel Boone then 31 against Science Hill in the title contest.

Austin Douglas (Cheatham County) was named as Mr. Basketball finalist in Class AA for his encore he went out and led the Cubs to the district tourney title with games of 32 against Harpeth and 33 against White House in the title game.

Blake Williams (Cordova) put the rest of the state on notice that Cordova is for real. Finally getting settled in his new surroundings the junior guard dropped 25 in the title game win over Bolton. With Williams in the fray this Cordova team is very formidable.

Blake Ervin (Heritage) scored 26 points and Heritage captured the schools first district tourney crown with a win over Bearden.

Down Chattanooga way a milestone of scoring must be noted as rising senior guard Tyler Byrd (Notre Dame) surpassed the 2,000 point mark for his career. That's a lot of points my friends. Congrats are certainly in order.

Just short of Middle Tennessee, James Coe (Jackson County) forever stamped his place in Blue Devils history surpassing the 1,000 point barrier for his career. Coe is a junior.
