Todd Day could not be happier.
The former Arkansas Razorback and Memphis Prep standout took the reigns of Hamilton High School this upcoming hoops season not knowing if his two best players would be of service to him.
The brothers Lawson, Keelon and Dedric Lawson (Hamilton) were scheduled to attend Jacksonville Arlington Country Day this season before Memphis head man Josh Pastner made a life changing decision for his current and future commitments.
Pastner hired former Hamilton coach and the father of the boys Keelon Lawson, to his staff for the upcoming future.
Lawson, one of the few coaches in Memphis prep history to coach an undefeated state champion in 2005, brings a solid resume to the job.
With his hiring, Memphis announced the commitment of Dedric, who has since moved up grade wise and will be a part of the Class of 2015.
One of the best young talents in the country, Lawson is a slick 6'8 point guard in the vein of former Memphis standout Anfernee Hardaway. He can score in every conceivable method, has incredible length and a very good outside shot.
Lawson joins his brother K.J. and Lexington HS big man Nick Marshall as Tiger commitments for the upcoming class.
Dedric, who played this summer with Team Penny, was instrumental in helping them finish second in the EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam in Augusta.
Dedric becomes the 9th player in the Class of 2015 to pledge D1.
