One of the nation's oldest and most prestigious tournaments is suddenly experiencing a Tennessee flavor.
The annual King of the Bluegrass Basketball Tournament in Fairdale, Kentucky has long been a holiday staple for hoops fans in the Bluegrass.
The 2012 version of the event features teams from all over the United States including the Lions from CPA, who off to a rousing start thus far at the event.
In the opening contest CPA glided to a 27 point victory over Philadelphia Electric and Technical Charter School.
Jalen Lindsey (CPA) was the alpha dog scoring 27 markers followed closely by Braxton Blackwell (CPA) with a cool 24. Braxton Bonds (CPA) was the table setter for the scoring collecting 15 dimes in the win.
Lindsey again led the scoring in game two as the Lions took an 8 point victory over defending Kentucky state champion Louisville Trinity to set up a 9:00 semi-final showdown on Saturday against the winner of the Bullitt East vs. Pleasure Ridge Park contest.
Lindsey, who finished with 18, was joined in the scorebook by Blackwell with 14 and Jake Allsmiller (CPA) with 10.
