Choctaw Leader Headed to the Colonial

Malik Pugh (Dyer County) patiently waited his turn.

Playing in the shadow of Tennessee freshman Robert Hubbs last season Pugh knew his time would come.

Pugh began his senior season like he was shot out of a rocket.

Breaking single game scoring records and lighting up the Dyer County gym, Pugh had his coming out party at the Penny Hardaway Hoop Fest.

The senior guard broke the event scoring record and in the process caught the eye of several coaches.

Pugh ended his recruitment this week and will head down the East Coast and play for coach Buzz Peterson and the Seahawks of UNC-Wilmington.

Wilmington plays in the Colonial Athletic Conference.

Pugh becomes the 13th member of the Class of 2014 to sign D1.
