One of the originals from the very first Best in State tournament, the Chattanooga Elite 16 and under found themselves a difficult time in this years event.
The Elite only played two game against the two unbeaten squads in the age group and found themselves departing before there final contest of the day.
They opened with a tough contest and the lack of size and depth showed as they fell to the powerhouse BMaze Elite 83-26. Nobody managed double digits with Lucas Brown (Red Bank) finishing as the leading scorer with 8 markers.
Their second contest pitted them against the other unblemished squad in the event the EAB 2020 squad who defeated the Elite 77-51.
Michael Houge (Chattanooga Christian) was a true bright spot for the lethargic bunch dropping 20 points and drawing praise from his coaches and from onlookers as one of the few who gave total effort throughout the weekend event.
The big fella found several ways to score, especially in the post and showed he could hang with the highly touted prospects from the EAB crew.
John Hardy (McCallie) would finish as the other only Elite member who closed with double digits as he tallied 11 in the loss.
The Elite managed no one who concluded the event in double digits and other than Houge didn't have anyone stand out either.
