Chattanooga Elite 15U Brings Home Peach State Championship

The action continues to get heavy as the second period of "live" action took place at various venues around the globe.

Down in Georgia at the annual Peach State Summer Showcase the 15U Chattanooga Elite continued their torrid summer bringing home the championship 80-64 over the Showtyme Ballerz from Florida.

The Elite breezed through pool play at 3-0 behind the steady hand of their leader, point guard Jr. Clay (McCallie). The rising sophomore set the tone with his play on both ends of the floor.

Guard play was again a strength for the vertically challenged Elite as a trio of outstanding backcourt mates led by Class of 2019 riser Shannon Walker (McCallie), R. Muleek Bradford (Cleveland) and Jeremy Elston (Tyner Academy) kept Chattanooga in contention with timely outside shooting and defensive relentlessness.

Justin Dozier (East Hamilton) played minutes in the back court; as well as, the wing for the Elite.

The Elite cruised into bracket play with their eyes planted a potential semi-final match-up with city rival Team NLP.

Be careful what you wish for it may come true and it did as the Elite battled their Choo-Choo nemesis in another outstanding clash among some of the best young players on the East Tennessee landscape. In the end the Elite took the lead and finished with a hard fought 49-45 victory and a date with the Ballerz for the 'ship.

Providing some inside/outside scoring punch for the Elite, Jay Gibson (Cleveland) nailed several long bombs and made numerous plays to keep possessions alive while deep shooting Peter Mac Hunt (McCallie) had his outside shot working and working some more.

Jordan Starling (McCallie) was fighting through some injuries and arrived late to the clash but upon his arrival the Elite countered with an inside presence that lifted them to the title.

Outstanding effort in all aspects of the game defined the weekend for the 15U Chattanooga Elite.
