Chris Deanes (CBHS) sank a 60 foot runner after a McCallie miss to lead the Purple Wave to an astounding 58-55 win and position themselves with a spot in the DII/Class AA finals against MBA on Saturday evening.
Deane's desperation heave careened off the top of the backboard and bounded upward before softly falling through the net for the win.
Frankie Bougher (CBHS) drained two timely threes after McCallie missed the front end of two one and one opportunities tying the game at 51.
Bougher led CBHS with 18 points.
Jordan Price (McCallie) led all scorers with 21 points. Terrence O'Donahue (McCallie) finished with 11.
In the opener, MBA received 23 points from Mr. Basketball finalist Holden Mobley (MBA) and 19 from David Howard (MBA) and gained a small measure of revenge besting Ensworth 84-80 in the opening semi-final game of the DII/Class AA.
Daniel McFadden (Ensworth) led all scorers with 27 points.
