Down in Cleveland the locals are making their plans for the showdown that closes the town down.

Yes my friends Cleveland vs. Bradley Central.

The teams are tied atop the district 5AAA standing along with Ooltewah and the winner takes a big step with only a few weeks left in the regular season.

Cleveland is playing much better basketball of late led by junior point guard D.J. Bowles (Cleveland).

Bradley Central has been steady for majority of the season they are led by Bryce Copeland (Bradley Central) and Hunter Chastain (Bradley Central).

This game has traditionally been a barnburner with some serious district implications as well as bragging rights in the community.

Memphis Central @ Memphis East (1/27) West Tennessee Game of the Week (2)

The proverbial battle for second place is one of the showcase games in Memphis this weekend as Memphis Central takes on Memphis East.

Both squads are trailing Melrose in the 16AAA district standings but a second place finish helps them in their seeding for the tournament.

East coming off a big win at the Penny against nationally ranked Our Savior New America features a host of some of the best players in the city including Nick King (Memphis East), Alex Anderson (Memphis East), Matthew Butler (Memphis East) and Earvin Morris (Memphis East).

Memphis Central is tied with East at 3-2 in the standings and is poised to take over the spot with a strong showing. Andre Applewhite (Memphis Central) leads the way for Central. Look for the combination of Myron Johnson (Memphis Central) and Josh Jones (Memphis Central) to be the backcourt spark that Warriors will lean on to combat the talented East squad.

Northeast @ Kenwood (1/27) Middle Tennessee Game of the Week (2)

In district 10AAA the leader Northeast standing at 11-1 battles one of the upstarts in the dangerous Knights of Kenwood.

Northeast is led by Kentucky signee Alex Poythress (Northeast) who is leading the state in scoring at around 30 per game and snatching rebounds at an alarming clip as well.

Kenwood has a stable of unsung heroes including sophomore stroker Daniel Norl (Kenwood) and athletic wing DeAndre Lisenbee (Kenwood).

Kenwood stands at 8-3 in the district standings and a big win could go a long way towards a better seed in the 10AAA tournament in a few weeks.

Ravenwood @ Brentwood (1/20) Middle Tennessee Game of the Week (1)

A rivalry that goes deep into the fiber of the community commences this evening in Brentwood as the Bruins welcome the Raptors of Ravenwood into their house.

A huge distrcit 11AAA clash will be the first of two meeting between the teams.

Brentwood currently stands at 17-4 and is right on the cusp of a state rankings behind the dynamic play of Jack "The Natural" Montague (Brentwood). He is playing at a very high level and newcomer Asa Duvall (Brentwood) and Cody Shelton (Brentwood) have seen their production increase because of it.

Devin Robinson (Ravenwood) will be asigned the task of guard Montague and it should be a fun battle to observe.

Oak Ridge @ Karns (1/20) East Tennessee Game of the Week (1)

A nice showdown in District 3AAA with the only two teams in the Knoxville area ranked in the Class AAA state rankings battling each other for the second time this season.

Oak Ridge brings a gaudy 17-2 record and a close win over the Beavers in their first meeting into tonights clash.

Karns, fresh off a loss to Powell on Tuesday, also stands at 17-2 with revenge on their minds.

The shots will fly from everywhere as the Wildcats will look to senior Spencer Shoffner (Oak Ridge) and a pair of guards in junior Cory Fagan (Oak Ridge) and Jaylin Henderson (Oak Ridge) for effective offensive output.

The Beavers will counter with some solid guard play as well from the trio of Morgan Everett (Karns), Devin Sibley (Karns) and Shaquille Cantrell (Karns).
