Jujuan Johnson (Southwind) West Tennessee Player of the Week (11)

Things get tough now that the playoffs are upon us and no one will rise to this occasion like Jujuan Johnson (Southwind). The senior guard and Marquette signee avenged one of their losses this week scoring 31 points as the Jaguars got past district counterpart Ridgeway. For his effort Johnson has been selected as the Tennessee Prep Hoops West Tennessee Player of the Week for Week #11.

Josh Bougher (CBHS) West Tennessee Player of the Week (10)

Josh Bougher (CBHS) was at the top of his game this past week. The talented junior sharpshooter busted 35 points as CBHS defeated then top ranked Briarcrest. For his phenomenal effort Bougher has been chosen as the Tennessee Prep Hoops West Tennessee Player of the Week for Week #10. In addition to his large numbers Bougher also managed a cool 11 in a rout of MHEA.

Toderick Davis (Sheffield) West Tennessee Player of the Week (9)

The Knights of Sheffield are having a wonderful 2012-2013 hoops season thus far. State ranked in Class AA and emerging from the pack as a serious contender to represent in Murfreesboro come March. Toderick Davis (Sheffield) is a vital cog in this Sheffield machine. The senior guard had his best week ever scoring 30 points in a win over Fairley and following that up with 31 in a victory over Oakhaven. For his scoring and winning exploits Davis has been selected as the Tennessee Prep Hoops West Tennessee Player of the Week for Week #9.

Zamarlus Griffin (BTW) West Tennessee Player of the Week (8)

If you follow the scoring leaders list this name will be familiar to you if not get to know him. Zamarlus Griffin (BTW) is a scoring machine for the Warriors of state ranked BTW. Griffin turned in a fine week's work scoring 30 early against Middle College and adding 35 in a victory over MBA. For his efforts Griffin has been chosen as the Tennessee Prep Hoops West Tennessee Player of the Week for Week #8.

Dedric Lawson (Hamilton) West Tennessee Player of the Week (6/7)

The future is very bright at Hamilton High School in Memphis. The brothers Lawson, Keelon and Dedric Lawson (Hamilton), are proving to be match-up nightmares for their opponents. As a rising freshman, Dedric put together a spectacular last two weeks of action and for his efforts he has been selected as the Tennessee Prep Hoops West Tennessee Player of the Week for the Weeks of 6 and 7. Lawson scored 21 against Memphis Central before notching 26 in an upset victory over district heavyweight Melrose. The precocious youngster added 27 against national power Arlington Country Day at the Penny Hardaway Hoop Fest after a nice 31 point effort in a loss to White Station.

Demetrius Dyson (Covington) West Tennessee Player of the Week (3/4)

Down in Covington special things are happening as rising senior Demetrius Dyson (Covington) is making the Chargers a must see for the area folks. Dyson was sensational the past few weeks and for his effort he has been selected as the Tennessee Prep Hoops West Tennessee Player of the Week for Weeks 3-4. Dyson has monster scoring efforts including 35 points against Ripley, 28 versus Martin Westview and 19 against Munford.

Robert Hubbs (Dyer County) West Tennessee Player of the Week (2)

Robert Hubbs (Dyer County) has now etched his name in Choctaw folklore. The Tennessee signee scored 28 points in a big win this past week and became the schools all-time leading scorer. His efforts moved him past Fred Yarbrough who held the record for one season. For his exploits Hubbs has been selected as the West Tennessee Player of the Week for Week #2.

Cameron Payne (Lausanne) West Tennessee District Tournament Player of the Week

Generally not the same format for the private schools once playoff action begins but the beginning of the post season can be considered the district tournament for those who reside in DII.

Cameron Payne (Lausanne) had a pair of outstanding games starting with 27 points against Harding Academy and concluding with 34 markers in a tough game against St. George's.

Cameron Golden (Ridgeway) West Tennessee Player of the Week (7)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!

What a week for the senior guard from Ridgeway.

Cameron Golden (Ridgeway) began the week scoring 21 points in a revenge victory over Southwind vaulting the Roadrunners back to the top of the polls in Class AAA.

Then for good measure he spikes 18 on Melrose as Ridgeway captures the city championships.

Did I mention he also committed to play his college basketball at UAB on the same day.

Great week for the Golden one.
