Week #3 of the Rocky Top High School Fall League in Cleveland fell on an ACT weekend so the games were hectic but fun. Let's get to the action.
Tennessee 96
Auburn 69
Antonio Jackson (Ooltewah) scored a game high 33 points as Tennessee moved their seasonal mark to 2-1 with a 96-69 win over Auburn. Jackson, who scored 35 points last week, is moving up the scoring charts. He was joined in the score book by teammate Ty Presley (Ooltewah) with 24 and Sam Gregory (Walker Valley) with 12. Austin Harwood (Walker Valley) added 10 in the victory.
Brad Whymer (Soddy Daisy) led Auburn with 19 points. Clifton Haney (Meigs County) added 13 as Auburn fell to 1-2 on the season.
Marquette 92
Syracuse 63
Jamaal Calvin (McCallie) notched 32 points as Marquette fell from the ranks of the beaten recording their first win with a 92-63 thrashing of Syracuse. Calvin, who still has a narrow lead in the scoring race, was assisted in the scoring column by Tristan Spradling (Meigs County) with 14 and Isaiah Beatty (Cleveland) with 11 markers. Marquette now stands at 1-2 on the year.
Clynt Bell (Dade County) led Syracuse, who fell to 1-2 as well, with 22 points. Ben Snider (Ooltewah) finished with 17. Brandon Hunt (Oakdale) added 12 and Miles Cothran (Ooltewah) finished with 11.
Vanderbilt 78
Florida 71
Jahmal Johnson (Cleveland) dropped 28 points helping lead Vanderbilt past unbeaten Florida 78-71. The win was the first for Vanderbilt as they stand at 1-2 on the season. Jeremiah Nason (Boyd Buchanan) added 10 points in the win.
Bradley McCurdy (Bradley Central) led Florida, who fell to 2-1, with 18 points. Jackson Brownfield (Walker Valley) pitched in with 16 and Walker McGowan (Bradley Central) finished with 14.
UConn 93
Louisville 92
John Hall (Silverdale Academy) and Daniel Brooks (Gordon Lee) scored 23 and 22 respectively as UConn remained among the ranks of the unblemished with a narrow 93-92 win over Louisville.
Dustin Little (Cleveland) added 17 as UConn raised their seasonal mark to 3-0.
Marquis Tipton (Brainerd) dropped 23 for Louisville which fell to 1-2 on the season. James McRee (Cleveland) added 16, Justus McMillan (Boyd Buchanan) finished with 13 for Louisville.
