Burney and Lloyd Lead a Host of Commitments

  Commitments are flying in from all over the place and now is the time when the junior colleges start to grab their future and the rest of the field starts to narrow things down as well.

After a rousing performance in the Class AAA state tournament, Monte Burney (Clarksville) will take his skills to one of the best junior colleges in the country. Burney will suit up next year for Vincennes University and venerable coach Todd Franklin. Vincennes has long been a JUCO powerhouse averaging 25 wins per season for the past 12 years.

Denzel Hardy (Southwind) will take his game to Tougaloo College an NAIA school located in Mississippi. The Bulldogs are a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.

Bryan College continues to accumulate players adding three more to their roster including Skylar Brown (Seymour), a 1,000 point scorer at Seymour, Andrew Blosser (Lenoir City) and Landon Hilton (Lenoir City).  Bryan College is a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference and the Lions compete in NAIA DII.

D.J. Currier (Oakdale) will continue his hoops career over the state line at Berea College in Kentucky. The Mountaineers are coached by John Hemenway and participate in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference of NAIA DII.

Jacob Lloyd (Westview) completed an outstanding high school career and will travel up the road to play for Coach Deron Hines and Jackson State next season. Jackson State is a member of the Tennessee Junior College Athletic Association.

Staying in the conference, second year mentor Jerry Nichols dips into his hometown and plucks out Jeff Graham (Hamilton). Graham is an athletic big man who can play the four.

On the other end of the state, Walter's State keeps reeling them in from all corners of the Volunteer state.

Anthony Sanders (Morristown West) comes from the Senators backyard right there in Morristown.

Kurt Brooks (Cocke County) another local product bring some good guard size and a nice outside stroke to campus.

Meanwhile from Middle Tennessee, Devanta Hamlett (Columbia Central) and Dedron Pillow (Columbia Central) will make the trek to play for venerable mentor Bill Caryle.

Terrence Dixon (LaVergne) after a nice showing at the Tennessee Prep Hoops Unisgned Senior Showcase at Walter's State, will move to Morristown and continue his basketball career with the Senators.

Lucas Branch (Knoxville Catholic) a 6'1 guard from Knoxville Catholic will cross the state line and play for Coach Jason Gillespie and the Bulldogs of Union College in Kentucky.

The Bulldogs advanced to the NAIA National Tournament this season.
