Brooks Becomes an Eagle

Making that ever tough decision on where to spend the next four years of your life is usually the first big decision a high school player has to make should he or she be fortunate enough to command the attention of the college basketball coaches.

Carson Brooks (Knoxville West) is such a fortunate young man.

After a good summer which saw Brooks compete with the Tennessee Travelers, the 6'5 power/wing forward decided to end his recruitment and stay close to home.

Brooks will attend Carson Newman College just up the road in Jefferson City next season.

The Eagles are coached by Chuck Benson in his second season at the helm. The Eagles are in NCAA DII and play in the South Atlantic Conference.

Brooks, who helped lead his West Rebels to a Class AAA state berth last season, is primed and now with his decision out of the way, ready to take another step towards realizing his goal of a state title.
