Brewster Sets the Holiday Season on Fire and Leads Week #6 State Scoring List

Here is our weekly list of the top scoring performances in the state, separated by East, Middle and West Tennessee distinction. One of our favorite features as relayed to me by numerous college coaches of all levels.

This is also the forum to announce milestones including 1,000 point scoring efforts and such. Please let me know if we miss any of that information. You can email me at andre@tnprephoops.com.

My intent is to post this list every Monday or Tuesday throughout the season.

Dylan Brewster (Lenoir City) had his Christmas wish come true as the Panther senior busted a school record 52 points in a holiday tournament triumph over Wartburg Central.

Chad Culbreath (Ripley) has been a mainstay on the scoring list and this week shall be no different. The scoring senior busted a cool 33 against Memphis Central then reached a milestone dropping 43 points against Wooddale and passing the 2,000 point mark for his prep career.

Brett Warner (Collierville) just quietly moves along piling up points. The Delta State signee went wild in Mississippi scoring 31 against Pontotec and adding 30 against North Panola in a holiday event.

Jalen Duke (MLK) had himself a Merry little Christmas with a very productive holiday week. Duke dropped 25 points against Clarksville Northeast followed that effort up with 27 against Dyer County and closed strong with a cool 32 against Spring Hill.

J'Honathan Smith (Waverly Central) is rewriting the Waverly record books with his scoring exploits over the holidays. Smith, a senior guard, scored 26 against Kenwood, added 28 against White House-Heritage and finished on a high note with 28 against Harding Academy.

Lets venture out to Dyer County where talent always seem to crop up and this year the feature presentation is junior guard Derrion Clifft (Dyer County). Clifft was doing his thing over the holidays including a big 32 point effort in a win over MLK.

Kyle Briggs (Jefferson County) was simply outstanding as his Patriots took 3rd place at the prestigious Arby's Classic including a win over previously unbeaten David Crockett. Briggs was huge in the win totaling 28 points.

John Payne (Goodpasture) is piling up the stats since his transfer to Goodpasture for his final high school season from Cookeville. Payne had a solid holiday week scoring 34 against Hume Fogg and adding 28 against McGavock.

Jordan Bone (Ensworth) is truly beginning to turn some heads not only in the mid-state but all over the Volunteer scene. The wily junior had a nice holiday week including a strong 26 point effort against Golden Gate out in California.
