Brentwood, Blackman and Cheatham County Shine at Post-Holiday Events

Holiday hoops madness was prevalent in the Middle Tennessee area.

Several tournaments took place let's hope I didn't miss yours.

 

 

 

 

Hickman County Holiday Classic

James McPherson (Brentwood) converted a driving lay-in at the buzzer as the Bruins slide past East Nashville 42-40 to take the crown at the Hickman County Holiday Hoops Classic. The win moves Brentwood to 16-1 on the year.

 

Central Magnet Holiday Tournament

Clay Hertel (DCA) put together a fine scoring week as DCA won both of their games at the Central Magnet Holiday Tournament. Hertel scored 30 against Coffee County in the opening round and finished with 24 in a win.

Joey Skibbie (Hume Fogg) also had a nice week on the hardwood scoring 32 in a win over the host school Central Magnet and then adding 22 against Coffee County.

 

Columbia Academy Bulldog Holiday Classic

MTCS and the host school Columbia Academy both won their respective games at the Columbia Academy Bulldog Holiday Classic.

Derrick Spears (MTCS) scored 30 to lead the Cougars over Friendship Christian while Andrew Golden (Columbia Academy) notched 30 of his own in a win over Lewis County.

 

Beech Holiday Classic

Drew Pentacost (Beech) led the scoring with 15 as the Buccaneers drove past West Creek 43-39 to capture the Beech Holiday Classic.

Station Camp took the third place crown led by 26 points from Kyle Anderton (Station Camp) in a 55-44 victory over Centennial.

 

Gulfshore Holiday Hoopfest

Andrew Fleming (Ensworth) scored 20 as the Tigers defeated First Baptist Academy 65-62 to bring home the title at the annual Gulfshore Holiday Hoopfest in Florida.

 

Watertown Christmas Classic

Cheatham County stayed unblemished on the season with an impressive 95-66 win over Meigs County to being home the hardware at the Watertown Christmas Classic.

Jacob Saunders (Cheatham County) led the scoring in the title game with 24 while Jordan Darden (Cheatham County) added 22 and was selected as the MVP of the event.

Coaches were also quick to applaud the efforts of sophomore guard Austin Douglas (Cheatham County).

 

Nera White Holiday Classic @ Macon County

Jacob Williams (Wilson County) prepared for the new year with a massive effort including 33 points in the title game victory (77-57) over Obion County as Wilson Central brought home the trophy at the annual Nera White Holiday Classic at Macon County High School.

Williams had a big tournament including a 40 point effort in the opening round victory over the host squad Macon County.

Dillon White (Westmoreland) notched 24 points as Westmoreland took the third place trophy with a win over Macon County.

 

Summertown Holiday Classic

Logan Montgomery (Collinwood) nailed a last second shot as the Trojans remain unbeaten with an 83-81 victory over Fayetteville at the Summertown Holiday Classic.

Tucker Robertson (Collinwood) leads the scoring barrage with 27. Michael Parks (Fayetteville) finished with 26 in the loss.

Brennan Bowling (Fayette Academy) was big time leading his team to three wins and along the way he dropped 27 against Houston County, 28 against Fayetteville and closed with 30 against Moore County.

 

Sonic Shootout @ White County

Brad Woodson (Riverdale) scored 19 points as the Warriors stepped past the host school White County to the tune of 75-67 to capture the annual Sonic Shootout Holiday Classic.

 

Father Ryan Holiday Classic

Lukas Hart (Blackman) and Juaun Jennings (Blackman) scored 19 and 15 respectively as the Blaze bested LaVergne to take the crown at the annual Father Ryan Holiday Classic in Nashville.
