Blue Raiders Snag Chattanooga Future Star

Potential is a tough and dangerous word.

Especially when it comes to the recruiting game.

Joan Duren (Hamilton Heights) has massive potential and a body that is college ready. His skill level has gotten more advanced every year he has been in the Hamilton Heights program and simply put the best is yet to come.

Duran ended his recruitment choosing the Blue Raiders of MTSU over interest from Belmont, Lipscomb, LMU and Shorter.

Duran, who goes 6-6, is a tough competitor with a nice wingspan and huge hands. His best asset is his ability to rebound the ball and his scoring is coming along with his basketball understanding and IQ. He has been one of the cogs that has the Hamilton Heights machine rolling at 22-2 thus far on the season.

His potential, there's that word again, is limitless and for good reason.

Duran said about his commitment, " I am excited about my future at MTSU. The coaches are great. They were very persistent with me in my recruitment and that made me feel valuable and wanted. I think their program will really give me an opportunity to take myt game to the next level and further into the future. I also like the location of the school which will keep me close to some important people in my life".

Duran becomes the 13th member of the Class of 2015 to pledge his decision to D1.

MTSU is a member of Conference USA and is coached by Kermit Davis.
