Plenty of action this past Saturday as the Pilot High School Rocky Top Fall League tipped off at CAK. Six games dominated the action with several sterling performances by some of the new blood in the city this year.

Team Jackson 69

Team Kimber 47

Balanced scoring proved to be the right medicine as Team Jackson outlasted a depleted Team Kimber squad 69-47 in the days opening contest. Brandon Crabtree (Scott) led four players in double figures with 14 for Team Jackson, who is coached by former NBDL All-Star Boo Jackson.

Knoxville West teammates Calvin Walker (Knoxville West) and Carson Brooks (Knoxville West) added 13 points each, while Kaseem Davidson (Oak Ridge) chipped in with 12 markers in the win.

Rising sophomores Zak Carter (Hardin Valley) and Imani Miller (Austin East) led Team Kimber with 14 and 10 points respectively.

Blount County 77

Union County 51

Execution at it's finest as Blount County put on a clinic and rolled to a 77-51 victory over a scrappy Union County group. Matt Shown (Alcoa) was a star inside scoring a game high 18 points and snatching double digits caroms as well. His high school running mate Gabe Dando (Alcoa) finished with 17 points on an array of deep shots and evil penetrations. Brian Landers (Maryville) added 10 points in the victory.

Stetson Moore (Knoxville Halls) led the Union County squad with 14 points. Nick Litton (Campbell County) chipped in with 9 in the tough loss.

Anderson County 56

Cumberland/Roane County 47

In what proved to be one of the most competitive games of the entire day, Spencer Shoffner (Oak Ridge) dropped a game high 19 points and helped lead Anderson County to a narrow 56-47 victory over a determined Cumberland/Roane County team.

Shoffner was outstanding hitting a handful of 3's and finishing tough drives to the glass. Anderson County was very balanced on offense with Mavericks triumvirate of Ross Cannon (Anderson County), Ethan Hayes (Anderson County) and Tanner Torres (Anderson County) all finishing with 8 points on the day. Torres also managed to find time to dish out a dozen assists in his day's work.

Robert "Gran" Troino (Stone Memorial) led his Cumberland/Roane squad with 17 markers, including 5 three's. Cleveland Davidson (Rockwood) finished with 10 points, while Alex Fountain (Wartburg Central) added 8 markers including the play of the day with a sweet baseline spin move and hammer for the and one.

Team Nabors 69

Team Naler 47

Morgan Everett (Karns) scored 13 points and a late first half flurry lifted Team Nabors past Team Naler 69-47 in the day's fourth contest. Chad Nabors (Knoxville Webb) added 12 points in the win and Burton "Big Money" Sampson (Knoxville Webb) finished with a cool 10 for Team Nabors who played outstanding team basketball and had contributions from everyone on the roster.

Tevin Gunn (Hardin Valley) led Team Naler with 13 points followed closely by Micah Goss (Hardin Valley) with 12 markers.

Team Lee 54

Tri-Cities 48

Drew Standifer (Bearden) scored 22 points and helped lead Team Lee to a narrow victory over a very scrappy Tri-Cities group. Standifer was outstanding, showing the generous crowd his improved shooting touch and all-around solid basketball skill level. DeQuan Wright (Bearden) is fully healthy after an injury kept him sidelined for much of the July period; he added 12 markers in the close victory.

Rising sophomore Travon Fields (Science Hill) and team leader Zach Howard (Science Hill) both finished with 13 points in the close loss.

Sevier County 69

Team Williams 59

Andy Barnette (Pigeon Forge) had his stroke on and then some scoring 22 points and helping lead Sevier County past Team Williams 69-59 in the day's final contest. Barnette was hitting from everywhere on the floor and his ability to stretch the defense allowed some inside scoring to take place. The beneficiary of a lot of this scoring was Bobbo Chesser (Seymour) who scrapped his way to a cool 14 points. Peyton Lee (Seymour) added 11 for Sevier County.

The effort offset another outstanding shooting exhibition from rising senior Blake Williams (Farragut), who tied Barnettte for game high scoring honors with 22 markers of his own. Adarius Wilson (Grace Christian) added 12 in the tough loss, while Dylan Keck (CAK) pitched in with 11 of his own.
