“Big Rob” Heading to the Sun Belt

This is the time in the basketball calendar, just before school gets underway, where players weigh their options and decide if they wish to pursue some of the offers that came their way after a productive summer.

Some choose to play out the high school season and attempt to move up while others will take the best offer and play worry free for their final prep campaign.

Rob Marberry (FRA) chose to do the latter. The 6'8 forward ended his recruitment with a commitment to the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky this week.

Marberry becomes the fourth member of the Class of 2014 to make his pledge.

Marberry had a very productive summer as the lone Tennessee representative on the Travelers Basketball Club which relocated to the Kentucky area. Rob got a chance to conclude his summer hoops campaign at the prestigious Peach Jam in Augusta where he performed well.

Western Kentucky is a member of the Sun Belt Conference and are coached by Ray Harper. The Hilltoppers made a big push late in the season last year and won their conference tournament and the automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.

Marberry will now set his sights on bringing home a Mr. Basketball trophy; as well as, a gold ball for FRA.
