How many times do you get the opportunity to play an opponents multiple times during a season.
For Bearden and Knoxville West this has become commonplace.
For the fifth time this season the Rebels and Bulldogs squared off with the Region 2AAA championship resting on the line for the winner.
Dion Fair (Bearden) notched 18 points and provided some clutch buckets as Bearden got past West for the fourth time this season 64-56.
With the win the Bulldogs will host Morristown East on Monday. West makes the long trip to Johnson City to battle powerhouse Science Hill.
A close game throughout became a back and forth affair in the fourth and after a Ty Greene (Bearden) bucket the score was knotted at 51 each with just over three minutes to go.
The teams traded scores until Region tournament MVP Rico White (Bearden) executed a slick backdoor cut and the Bulldogs seemeingly took the lead for good.
Fair and Greene led Bearden with 18 and White added 16.
JuJuan Williams (Knoxville West) led the Rebels with 15 markers.
