Fresh off their superior effort against national power Oak Hill Academy the Bulldogs welcomed the states top ranked AA squad to the Den for a showdown of two of Knoxville's best.
The outcome was much different.
Nathan "Stat-Man" Parker (Bearden) led a balanced scoring attack with 19 and the Bulldogs cruised to a 109-67 triumph. The Bulldogs accumulated a 20 point lead at the half behind Blake Jenkins (Bearden) , who scored 17 and sophomore Ty Green (Bearden) who added 14 and then added a 31-9 fourth quarter run behind the stout sophomore group to achieve the final score.
Chance Jones (Austin East) led all scorers with 27.
Middle Tennessee Game of the Week
Shelbyville 56
Columbia Central 54
Deonta Twilley (Shelbyville) knocked down two foul shots late in the contest to help the Eagles skip past their district rival 56-54.
Emmanual Andrews (Shelbyville) proved to the whole show scoring 27 points while Trevor Reed (Shelbyville) added 14.
Marsallis Whittaker (Columbia) and Morty Robinson (Columbia) scored 14 and 12 respectively for Columbia.
West Tennessee Game of the Week
White Station 93
Ridgeway 88
Andre Hollins (White Station) made his presence felt dropping 21 markers and helping the Station win their second round showdown with the defending AAA state champs 93-88.
Balanced scoring was the mantra for the Spartans as Joe Jackson (White Station) contributed 20, Julian Burton (White Station) added 17 and Ferrakohn Hall (White Station) finished with 15.
Three Roadrunners, Marterrace Brock, James Hampton, Darryl Marshall, all dropped 16 in the loss.
