Allsmiller Leads Week #7 Scoring List

jakeallsmiller.jpg

Once again I have scoured the newspapers, faxes, twitters and other forms of media that come to my attention compiling a list of the top scorers in the state for each week of the season.

If you know of some scoring exploits or a scoring milestone such as 1,000 point club or something of that nature please email me at andre@tnprephoops.com and I will get this added to the next week’s story.

If you know of someone who scored over 25 points and they did not make the list please let me know and I will add them to the following weeks list.

College coaches have told me this is one of their favorite features as it helps them get an understanding on the pulse of the new season.

Reggie Anthony (Harding Academy) the senior guard is flying under the radar in the Memphis. Anthony had a nice week dropping 27 in a win over Northpoint and closing the week with 25 against FACS.

Jake Allsmiller (CPA) just could not miss. The Georgia Southern signee drilled 11 3's and finished with 41 points in a district win over state ranked Cascade. Allsmiller is now among the leaders in made three point goals in the history of high school basketball.

Tucker Campbell (Adamsville) has been a steady force all season long. The rising junior put together a nice triple/double against Scotts Hill scoring 23 markers, pulling down 10 caroms and dishing out 11 dimes.

Oterriah Lee (CAK) is back. The rising senior guard seems to be back at full strength judging from his 34 point outburst in a close district loss to Alcoa. Lee was sidelined with an injury for much of the early season.

Fatodd Lewis (Raleigh-Egypt) has college coaches all in a thither. The senior post player is piling up the points as was witnessed by his 25 markers against Collierville, another 25 spot against Fairley and finally 26 against Frayser.

Terry Holt (East Nashville) appears to back into his early season form. The rising senior dropped 25 in a win over Maplewood and followed up with 31 in a victory over Stratford.

Things continue on the upswing over at Gatlinburg-Pittman HS. The Highlanders continue to pile up the wins and stand at 17-1 on the season and ranked 7th in Class AA. Huge scoring efforts from senior guards Clay Leatherwood (Gatlinburg-Pittman) and Steffan Schroeder (Gatlinburg-Pittman) seem to be cause of all this success. The two scored 34 and 27 respectively in a big district win over Union County.

Justin Wertner (St. George's) is simply getting buckets. The rising junior scoring guard had another fine week scoring 27 in a win over Tipton-Rosemark and closing with 32 in a big win over state ranked USJ.
