Adonis Thomas (Melrose) has been the recipient of numerous awards this season.
The Memphis commitment may add another trophy to his burgeioning case with his naming as the 2011 Tennessee Boy's Gatorade Player of the Year.
Thomas, who will participate in the 2011 McDonald's All-American Game, had an outstanding senior campaign averaging 21.8 points per game and grabbing 11.2 caroms.
He helped lead Melrose to the 2010 Class AAA state championship and is a member of the 2011 USA Junior National Select Team.
Thomas is a two-time Class AAA Mr. Basketball finalist.
