Team Thad Plays Even at UAA Session #2 in Louisville

The Under Armour Association Session #2 drifted to basketball happy Louisville, Kentucky and the talent level was gigantic as coaches from all levels of D1 ascended on the spacious hoops facility.

Beginning in the 17 and under division Team Thad got the ball rolling strong winning their Friday night clash over the Earl Watson Elite to the tune of 73-66 behind 15 from Nathan Hoover (Arlington) and 12 each from Mikkel Normant (Fayette-Ware) and LaGerald Vick (Prep School).

Jordan Bone (Ensworth) added 10 in the win.

Playing without Jaylen Fisher (Bolton) who tweaked his knee, Team Thad found themselves behind the eight ball on Saturday against two of the better team in the Association.

Vick led with 13 and Hoover added 10 but it would prove to be to little as the Houston Defenders defeated Team Thad 75-61.

Normant was large in Game #3 with 26 markers but he got little help from his mates as Team Thad fell to the Atlanta Xpress by the same score of 75-61.

Things got back on track on Sunday as Team Thad took out their Saturday frustrations on Sports U with a 67-56 win behind 19 from Hoover and 17 from an inspired Micah Thomas (Briarcrest).

Normant and Hoover were solid all weekend for Team Thad while the performance of Thomas on Sunday was one of the most talked about by any player on social media over the weekend.

Team Thad finished the weekend at 2-2 to move their overall mark to 5-3 in the Association.

Down in the 16 and under division things started rough for the unbeaten Team Thad squad falling in their opener to a very talented Canada Elite squad 74-61. Dedric Boyd (Haywood) played like a man possessed dropping 24 points yet a last second shot kept Team Thad from the win 68-66 against the Indy Hoosiers. Harris, a Class fo 2018 product, was spectacular at the lead guard spot setting up majority of Boyd's buckets and getting 11 markers of his own.

Monyyong was a force on the interior with 13 points as Team Thad got back to their winning ways with a 61-49 tanning of the South Jersey Jazz.

Team Thad moved to 2-2 on the weekend with their finale an easy and balanced scoring win over the Mo Williams Academy 75-67.

The 2-2 mark moves Team Thad to 6-2 overall in the 16 and under portion of the Association.

Quinton Williams (Bartlett) led the scoring with 12 followed closely by Rodgerick Brown (Cordova) with 10.

Things got tougher as Team Thad ran into a buzz saw against the Louisiana Elite to the tune of 83-66. Brown was solid with 15 points and 11 boards. Garrett Golday (Arlington) had his best game of the event also dropping 15 points while Rayshad Williams (Lausanne) chipped in with 10.
